We understand the many questions that come with visiting a new church, so we want you to feel right at home when you visit Journey Christian Church.
At Journey Christian Church we strive to be a warm and welcoming community of faith that worships in a relaxed, non-intimidating atmosphere. When you come in you will be met by friendly people who will welcome you as you are!
When We Meet
When you arrive at Journey Christian Church, you can enter either on the Julius Ave side into the Café or the Leila Place side into the Sanctuary. You’ll be greeted with a friendly smile by one of our Welcome Team members.
There will be complimentary coffee for you to enjoy in the Café, as well as other refreshments. You can check your kids into our kids’ ministry, JourneyTown. There will be a 5-minute countdown to let you know when the service will start, so you can be sure to get your seat before the service begins!
What The Service Is Like
Worship Gatherings at Journey Christian Church usually comprise of a time of energetic, passionate praise and worship through song. A few songs into the service, we pause and take a moment to greet each other. In addition to worship through song, we also take moments within the service to express worship through giving.
Following worship through giving one of our Pastors, one of elders, or one of our leaders will lead us through a time of worship through hearing the word. At the conclusion of the sermon or teaching time we observe communion together as a faith community, and the service ends with a time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.
After the service, everyone is invited to mix and mingle in the Café. This is a great time to meet our pastor, leadership, and other members of the Journey community.

What The Service Is Like
Service usually starts with a time of energetic, passionate praise and worship. A few songs into the service, we pause and take a moment to greet each other. After another song or two, our time of worship through singing will conclude, and someone will lead us in worship through communion. Following that someone else will lead us in worship through giving.
Most weekends, our Pastor Wimbai Mutonono will preach and to conclude our worship through hearing the word and the service we take time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.
After the service, everyone is invited to mix and mingle in the Café. This is a great time to meet our pastor, leadership, and other members of the Journey Family.

What to Wear
There is have no dress code at Journey. Shorts and t-shirt, slacks and button down shirt - all are welcome. Relaxed dressing or dressed up. We’ll just be happy to have you join our worship gathering.
Arrival Time
We offer complimentary coffee and donuts an hour prior to the service. Be sure to arrive early. Kids can be checked in for JourneyTown 30 minutes before service begins.
Parking
We reserve parking around the building for all our first time guests and families with kids as well as those who need assistance. Our regular members park at the snowball stand and Concentra Urgent Care parking lot.
Worship Style
Our worship style is contemporary, and with some old hymns mixed in! We believe that who we worship matters more than how we worship.
Teaching Style
The incredible teaching team at Journey Christian Church commits to brings relevant, Bible-focused messages each week. Sermons are usually 35 minutes of our 1 hour 15 minutes services.
