PASTOR
Wimbai has served as Pastor with Journey Christian Church since 2014. Wimbai’s calling and vision is to serve people by loving, caring and helping everyone experience and share God’s grace.

LAW ENFORCEMENT CHAPLAIN
Wimbai has has great passion for teaching, preaching and connecting with people in the context of relational ministry. In addition to serving the Journey Christian Church community, he also serves as law enforcement chaplain with Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. As law enforcement chaplain serves the community as well as Sheriff’s Deputies through the ministry of presence as well as relationship building.

CAREER
Prior to serving with Journey Christian Church, Wimbai was the founding Executive Director for Gulf South Leadership Institute, A Greater New Orleans Non-profit that served churches and faith-based organizations by providing leadership training and development as well as ministry leadership coaching resources.

EDUCATION
Wimbai graduated from Kentucky Christian University with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Youth, Family Ministry and preaching as well as a Master of Arts degree in Leadership Studies.

FAMILY
Wimbai is married to Elena and together they have two children - Stephen and Vera.

FAMILY LIFE PASTOR
Justin has served as Family Life Pastor at Journey Christian Church in 2022. As Family Life Pastor he is oversees Children’s Ministry, Community Groups, and Discipleship.

CAREER
In addition to serving Journey Christian Church Justin is also a full-time police officer with Jefferson Parish Sherrif’s Office.

NOLA NATIVE
He has lived in the New Orleans area his entire life, growing up in Kenner and Metairie.

EDUCATION
He attended Liberty University and the Rawlings School of Divinity where he completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies obtaining a Masters of Divinity.

FAMILY
Justin and his wife Amanda (Mandy) have five children together; Liam, Harleigh, Eli, Canon, and Emmett. Whether it is basketball, dancing, baseball, football, or Jiu Jitsu they stay busy as a family.

MINISTRY
Justin enjoys teaching and seeing people’s lives impacted by the truth of God’s Word.

COMMUNITY MEMBER
Carl Duvigneaud has been a part of the Journey Christian Church community since 2014.

NOLA NATIVE
Carl is a New Orleans native. He attended DeLaSalle HS and Tulane University. His two children, Carl III and Danielle, both graduated of University of New Orleans.

CAREER
He presently works in Pre-Need Funeral Plans for Security National Life Insurance company.

ELDER
Carl was confirmed as an elder in July of 2021.

COMMUNITY MEMBER
Bentley Lovelace and his family have been part of the Journey Christian Church community since 2020 and he is currently involved with our Worship Team as well as the building maintenance team.

CAREER
Originally from Texas, Bentley moved to New Orleans after six years in US Navy.

MINISTRY
He attended and served in leadership at River of Life Fellowship for 28 years.

FAMILY
Bentley and his wife, Michelle, have been married 31 years and they have a daughter, Meghan. The Lovelaces are involved in the worship ministry at Journey. They also facilitate a home study group at their home in Metairie.

ELDER
Bentley was confirmed as an elder at Journey in 2024.

COMMUNITY MEMBER
Greg Chiasson and his wife Bernice Chiasson have been a part of the Journey Christian Church community since 2017 and they both serve on our prayer ministry as well as teaching team.

MINISTRY
Greg has ministry credentials through Louisiana School of Ministry (LASOM). Prior to coming to Journey Christian Church, Greg and Bernice served with a church planting team in the 9th ward after Hurricane Katrina.

FAMILY
Greg and Bernice met in 2005 and we have been married for 18 years. Their marriage mission statement is, “Our marriage isn’t as good today as it will be tomorrow.” That simply means that even if it’s at its greatest or worse no matter what, tomorrow will be better.

ELDER
Greg was confirmed as elder at Journey in 2024.
