Journey Christian Church is committed to the principles of our Christian church heritage rooted in the Restoration Movement, as expressed by the following statements:

We are not the only Christians,
but we are Christians only.

BELIEFS
GOD
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible. A holy (without sin), spiritual being, all knowing, everywhere present, eternally existent in three distinct personalities – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – one God (Exodus 3:14-15, John 4:24, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-2).
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus became “God in the flesh.” He was born through the miracle of a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, was crucified and died a physical death as atonement for our sins, and was physically resurrected from the grave (Matthew 1:18-25, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8). He will return in bodily form as Lord of the universe, to gather his followers and judge those who have rejected him (Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 9:27-28).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The third person of the trinity is the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every Christ-follower. His indwelling presence gives spiritual life to believers and distinguishes them as children of God. The Holy Spirit guides Christ-followers in applying God’s principles, equips Christ-followers with spiritual gifts and abilities for the purpose of building up the body of Christ, the Church. At Journey Christian Church one of our core values is yielding to the Holy Spirit as a foundation for learning and living out the way of Jesus with the heart of Jesus.
SIN
Men and women were created in the image of God but are now separated from God by sin (Romans 5:12-21).
SALVATION
Faith (belief and trust) in Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross is the only way to be reconciled with God (Acts 4:8-12). Salvation cannot be earned; it is offered through Jesus based on grace, not merit. What we couldn’t do for ourselves (reconcile with God), Jesus did through his death on the cross (Ephesians 2:8-9). God lovingly offers salvation to every person, and every person has the freedom to accept or reject this gift at any time (John 3:16-18). Faith requires repentance (conforming our lifestyle to Christ’s), and results in obedience. Baptism by immersion demonstrates a pledge of our willingness to live for Him (Acts 8:26-38, Romans 6:1-4).
THE BIBLE
We believe in the Bible, God’s Word. We believe that God inspired the original writings of the Scripture and therefore the Bible is completely trustworthy in all its parts. We accept the Bible as the written authority for all matters of the Christian faith and practices associated with it. We embrace The Bible as our guide and as part of our core values, we purpose to be a faith community “guided by God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:15-16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
THE CHURCH
The Church of Jesus Christ is not limited to any one institution or denomination; it consists of all who have trusted Jesus Christ for redemption of their sins. The Bible speaks of the church as Christ’s body. It compares it to a living organism, where Jesus is the head. He gives each Christ-follower special functions to perform for the good of the body. To remain healthy, the body’s members must work together. Each part contributes to the growth and maturity of the body. For this reason, it is important for Christ-followers to regularly gather together for the purpose of celebration. Celebration in this way enables believers to serve one another and the unchurched people in their sphere of influence. Journey Christian Church is therefore but one part of the God’s greater Church (1 Corinthians 12:12-17).
